UPSTREAM

Coiled tubing

The most popular use for coiled tubing is circulation or deliquification. When a hydrostatic head inhibits the flow of formation fluids due to its weight the well is referred to as having been killed. The safest solution is to attempt to circulate out fluid using nitrogen. Circulating can also be used to clean out light debris, which may have accumulated in the well hole.

Hydraulic fracturing

Fracking fluids are sent down a wellbore at high pressure in order to create fissures in the underground formation in order to release trapped oil or gas. Nitrogen or carbon dioxide is used in foam-based fracking fluids.

MIDSTREAM
