South Africa operations welcomed two Group Executives: Diana Schillag and David Prinselaar, Group Vice Presidents accompanied by Frederic Despreaux, VP, Industrial Direction - PP & BOS. Adding further significance to the visit, Nicolas Poirot, our AMEI CEO, joined the team.
The visit commenced at our Secunda plant, where we are running the world's largest oxygen production site. Here, the executive team toured the ALLISA and ALLI sites led by Lasad Jaouani, AMEI Industrial and Secunda Operations VP, gaining insights into the ongoing modernisation efforts aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the plant. They also engaged with various teams across the business, including a session with the TCLs. Witnessing firsthand the tangible progress in decarbonizing our 16 Air Separation Units (ASUs), all while supporting Sasol's CO2 reduction journey, was truly inspiring for everyone.
Another impactful part of Diana's visit was her trip to the Unjani Clinic in Embahlenhle, a township near Secunda. She was accompanied by Nkululeko Magadla, GM South Africa and welcomed by the Unjani Clinics CEO, Lynda Toussant and the nurse-owner, Sister Phindi. The Unjani team shared the impact of the clinic in the community and the broader South Africa healthcare system. Our partnership with Unjani Clinics has significantly broadened access to essential oxygen therapy within the network of 221 primary care clinics nationwide.
